I think ho-hum cooker meals should be done in the slow cooker! So forget all the steps! Toss all ingredients into the slow cooker. Give it a stir and so cook it on depression for the suggested fourth dimension. Information technology'southward so skillful and you don't have to do all the individual steps. Add the cornstarch at the stop and stir. Serve over rice. Amend than accept-out!!

This was an piece of cake, succulent and salubrious dinner. As some others did, I used low sodium soy sauce and that seemed about correct for saltiness. I wanted to stay true to the original recipe simply I did reduce the sugar to ane/4 cup (watching sugar carbs) and likewise added 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to give it a picayune zing. Rather than steam the broccoli, I simply added it correct after adding the cornstarch slurry and it was perfect after thirty minutes! I'll definitely brand this again - next time I may add together sliced onion near the beginning of the cooking and crimson pepper strips with the broccoli.

My whole family enjoyed this, even the ane who says he doesn't like Chinese food. He ate the most of all of u.s.! I used Better than Boullion, lite soy sauce, garlic powder and a flank steak, because that's what I had on mitt and it even so turned out delicious and we didn't think too salty. I also threw in a sliced sweet onion like another reviewer suggested. Corking, piece of cake recipe with very minimal prep that I volition be making again. The sauce is thinner and less sticky than restaraunt style broccoli beef, but no complaints here anyway.
08/04/2014
I followed the ingredients and directions EXACTLY except I used lower sodium soy sauce because that'due south all I ever utilize. This was still very salty. I call back I would get out out the bouillion next fourth dimension or use low sodium beef goop instead. Other than that, there are no adjustments needed. I volition make this over again.
10/07/2015
This was very expert. My family liked it. The only change I fabricated is to substitute oyster sauce for half of the soy sauce. I also used 2 sixteen ounce bags of frozen broccoli florets instead of fresh broccoli. I plant that after cooking 6 hours on Depression the thinly sliced beefiness I used had fallen apart mostly. But that was ok. If you want your beef to hold together more in slices it'south probably best to but melt for 4-5 hours or use thick chunks of beefiness instead of slicing it thin like you would for a regular stir fry. The sauce never thickened for me, but I didn't bother cooking it down in a sauce pan. There was plenty of juciness for the quinoa I served this with to soak up!! I volition brand this once again. Leftovers are great!
01/xviii/2016
Cooked on high iv hours and then added cornstarch mixture and pocket-size broccoli florets for some other 30 minutes. Beef stew meat was fantabulous! Adjacent time I will wait until fifteen before terminate to add the pocket-size broccoli florets though as they didn't have much crunch left.
04/07/2015
Such an easy prep-ahead or freezer meal. Throw all ingredients except the water, corn starch, broccoli, and rice into a freezer handbag and freeze until you need an like shooting fish in a barrel meal. When set to use put in deadening cooker with the water and follow your recipe from there! A new favorite at our house! This can hands be turned into a gluten-free meal past using gluten-free soy sauce!
08/24/2014
I was looking for an easy however healthful dinner--this was it! The whole family enjoyed it. I did utilise beef stew meat--which made information technology even easier.
01/08/2015
Fantastic! I made i.v times the sauce the second time around because the beginning time I made it, it cooked down and wasn't quite every bit sloppy as I like. I also used lite soy sauce - had information technology, didn't know why, never thought I'd utilize information technology, so this was a good excuse. The second fourth dimension around, my husband bought stir-fry meat, so it was in very thin strips. This cutting out about an hour from the high cooking time, which was dainty because I ever think to utilize the tedious cooker at similar three p.g. Nifty recipe - can't wait to make it for company! Thanks!
01/04/2016
The taste was very good simply a little on the salty side equally other reviewers mentioned. I as well made a couple modifications. Like many others, I used one/4 cup depression sodium soy sauce and then 1/four cup oyster sauce to give information technology a bit more season and aid with the saltiness. I too added some minced ginger root and instead of steaming the broccoli, I just tossed it into the crock pot like 20-30 minutes to the end. It seems to defeat the purpose of the crock pot a fiddling it if you lot have to use boosted pots/pans, and this way worked just fine. Solid recipe. Will definitely be making information technology again.
01/29/2015
I used very thin sliced beef. I cooked it on loftier for i hour., then cooked information technology on low for another 3 hrs. I used organic beef goop and low sodium soy sauce. I used 3 cloves of garlic, just I call back information technology could have used four. The sauce didn't thicken in the crock pot, so next time I will use the suggestion of thickening the sauce on the stove. *Update* Made this again and used a can of beef gravy and a couple tablespoons of water instead of the bullion and water. Used very thin sliced beefiness and cooked it on loftier for three hrs, adding the cornstarch and water at 2 hrs and xxx min. The consistency was thick enough without having to thicken the sauce on the stove.
03/02/2016
As one member commented I likewise just put everything in the slow cooker except veggies without whatsoever prep work which saved nearly a one-half hour and dirty dishes ( I did add peapods, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots along with the broccoli after four hrs. ( we like our veggies crunchy) and cooked on low for 4 hrs. stirring every couple hours and so added the veggies and cooked another 3 hrs. and it came out awesome. However I will make about 50% more sauce next time.
02/25/2016
Made it with half the soy sauce called for (using reduced sodium soy sauce) and the flavor was tasty but too weak. Try making the recipe with the full amount of soy sauce to increment flavour. Also, I just steamed the broccoli in the microwave--much easier, and omitted the sesame oil. Cooked the meat (only 1 pound) in the dull cooker on high for nigh two-3 hours.
09/03/2014
I didn't employ 1/2cup soy sauce, bc people commented on it existence salty. I used 1/4cup and it was delicious!!
02/xi/2015
I used beef goop, and top round steak. I left out the sesame oil. I also made my ain fried rice. A very tasty dish!
08/16/2016
Ok so I followed this exactly and my husband and I did non like this at all. I mean like really didn't like it. Too salty, and just a bad overall taste. Cornstarch did non thicken mine at all, even afterward being on high for 30 minutes. Some of you were evidently able to get a tasty result, merely I was not.
05/07/2015
Dear this recipe, nothing to change but I do add cherry peppers and green peppers for more flavor.
08/12/2014
Super easy and succulent! I wish the sauce was thicker though
x/26/2016
Used 1/iv cup soy sauce and 1/4 cup chocolate-brown sugar. It turned out beautifully! I put the uncooked broccoli straight in the irksome cooker for the final 10 minutes My hubby, who is a fussy eater, raved almost it. In fact, he went on and on about it and had iii servings! I will definitely brand it over again.
02/08/2015
This was just similar if we ordered takeout and super easy!
02/26/2016
I made it exactly like instructed and it wasn't too salty like some said. I did use low sodium soy sauce though. It was very proficient and my kids enjoyed it to. I didn't know it was a Chinese dish never had Chinese food. :-)
08/16/2015
I made information technology and I can't cook but my husband loved it. It came out succulent!!! Volition brand once more.
07/11/2017
I received a lot of compliments with this recipe. I added sliced onions and mushrooms to it. I decided to add the broccoli about half way through cooking time, and the onions and mushrooms almost an hr after that. Side by side time I may exercise the broccoli as the original recipe states, because they lost their dark-green color- soaking upward the brown sauce besides long, or being cooked too long.
05/27/2016
family of 5 loved information technology. ages 11-55
11/23/2014
My whole family unit loved this! I added more broccoli, water chestnuts & ginger.
10/fifteen/2015
WONDERFUL! I HAD TO THICKEN THE SAUCE A Flake AND I Cutting Dorsum ON THE SOY, BUT THIS IS A KEEPER!!!!
02/27/2017
Absolutely delicious! Nosotros sautéed and added baby Bella mushrooms at the end. The next fourth dimension I brand this, I'll be sure to have some fresh bread to go with information technology. I cooked about 8 hours and the meat melted.
03/04/2019
This is ane of my favorites. I add together h2o chestnuts and bamboo shoots only for the crunch.
08/18/2017
This recipe does not need any changes. It was an absolute hit with my family! Tonight I am making it once again, but didn't have burgoo, so I am using a tin of beef consume in place of it and am anxious to encounter if it turns out as well. Such an easy dish to make with outstanding flavor, yous tin't get wrong giving this a try
10/24/2017
My finicky fam loved information technology as is. Merely one note: video shows about a cup of cooking liquid to the 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch. Written directions say differently. Exercise it like the video and it will thicken up perfectly!
09/03/2016
This was and so easy to brand and information technology came out amazing. I tin't look to make it over again.
10/25/2016
As well salty and I didn't even use the beef bouillon because that seemed inconceivable.
03/29/2018
The sauce is perfect! I did use a reduced sodium soy sauce. Got domicile late. Tossed in some leftover sautéed peppers & onions. Cooked some rice. Got changed, had a drinking glass of wine. Scooped rice into bowls, ladled beefiness mixture from crock pot over top & enjoyed! Did non have /add together thickening agent- no need. Delicious! Make it once more expert!!! Thanks.
09/24/2017
I used chopped broccoli instead and used low sodium soy sauce. Had to double the recipe due to feeding 8. Smelled merely like take out but toll me way less. #happy mom.
07/nineteen/2014

09/thirty/2014
In that location was not much flavour to this recipe.
08/18/2018
Edible, not restaurant quality. I will not make again
01/08/2018
Simply delicious, the whole family unit loved information technology.
08/25/2014
This was really good but salty and the sauce was not as thick equally I would have liked. I used far free low sodium beef broth and low sodium soy sauce. Volition definitely get in again.
07/06/2016
I used a sirloin tip roast and pulled it apart. Besides added chilli flakes to information technology. My husband loved it served on rice.
06/06/2016
Neither my husband nor I cared for this ..we didn't similar the sugary taste.
07/23/2018
This dish had really proficient flavour although a bit on the salty side. I'll use depression sodium soy sauce next time. Definitely a keeper.
09/25/2018
Wasn't also crazy about this
04/27/2018
yum
03/20/2020
Fantastic! Made it nearly every bit-is and wouldn't change anything next time. Used ane.five lbs of boneless beef short ribs (3 pieces) and iii large heads of broccoli. Common salt&peppered the beef, sliced it and then seared the sides, and and then cooked the beef w/ sauce on dull cooker manner of the instant pot ("normal" temp) for viii hrs and they came out so incredibly tender. Steamed the rice and broccoli separately when it was close to dinnertime. Served with crushed peanuts.
12/17/2017
What a keen recipe!
07/04/2016
This is a squeamish fire-and-forget recipe when you want something Asian. Ingredients are piece of cake to find. You may demand to add a niggling actress corn starch to get the juices to thicken. The type of soy you use will modify the overall season. Better soy means better season retention.
12/23/2018
I doubled the recipe and fed 9 people!
eleven/08/2017
way too salty flavor for me
02/09/2020
I doubled the recipe and it was fantastic. My wife couldn't get enough information technology seemed
03/30/2017
Other than adding some carmine pepper, nosotros followed the recipe exactly. Very, very good. Will definately make this again.
08/28/2017
Easy? Yes. Smells astonishing? Yes. Flavor on point? Non quite. While everything was pretty skilful, it tasted just a little bit off, like information technology was missing something but I'thousand not sure what. I did use depression sodium soy sauce and sodium complimentary beef bullion so information technology wasn't too salty. Overall, decent quick prep meal.
04/24/2016
This was very good just be careful if cooking in a boring cooker, my meat just nigh disappeared because it was then tender. This was a very skilful flavored dish! Will brand once more.
09/23/2014
Followed the recipe. I think it was good only salty. I will utilise less of the soy sauce adjacent time around. Will definitely be making this again.
02/xx/2019
Followed ingredients, but did what others suggested and threw the broccoli in when cornstarch was added. Very good! Adjacent fourth dimension I would add together onion and definitely increment the sauce. I used low sodium soy sauce and did non remember it was too salty as other reviewers say. Topped with some sriracha sauce to add a little kicking. Note: not sure if sirloin is a necessary expenditure. I think side by side fourth dimension I would employ stew meat or round.
01/18/2017
Awesome tasting dish. Love how simple it is to brand this meal. Thanks!!
02/22/2017
Followed the recipe with a few additions. Some fresh Onion slices, Fresh mushrooms, and red pepper flakes. Cutting the soy sauce in one-half and used oyster sauce as others suggested. Used corn starch and made a roux when the corstarch failed. Neither was successful in thickening my sauce. Used frozen Broccoli florets. Still astonishing and will make again!
05/27/2017
Made it simply like recipe. Yummy!
eleven/12/2019
Quick and easy to make. I used minced garlic instead of garlic cloves.
01/25/2016
We liked this recipe, give thanks you. I followed the directions exactly. Was a bit as well sugariness for our taste. If I brand information technology again in the future, I'd reduce the sweetener, or perchance adapt the soy sauce. Served it with dark-green salads & warmed up 12 grain dinner rolls. It was quick to get together in the crock pot which I appreciated.
05/18/2019
I substituted garlic flavored olive oil for the sesame oil. I made the slow cooker beef every bit written. I didn't thicken the sauce. I ladled information technology out and used it for stir fry sauce. I used one bag of frozen stir fry vegetables, thawed. When these were done I added a half package of cooked whole wheat angel hair pasta. Then I dumped the beefiness with whatever remaining sauce into the wok and combined all until well mixed and coated with sauce. I served this every bit lo mein without rice.
06/06/2016
Made information technology exactly every bit specified with the exception of using low sodium soy sauce. We loved the gustation and texture. I will start to play with it now - I want to add onions, I retrieve ,and ginger. I did not mess with the sugar - the salty/sweetness contrast is key in this 1.
05/03/2017
I requite this 5 stars considering information technology was easy to make and super tasty.
02/22/2018
A very tasty, easy recipe. I followed the recipe every bit is but I found information technology more than salty than I liked. The rest of the family, notwithstanding, gobbled it up - even the not big on broccoli fans! The recipe was a really nice addition to a chinese-themed-meal for a family dinner. I plant information technology was very convenient to have this main dish cooking in the tedious cooker when prepping/cooking the rest of the dinner on the stove.
01/24/2017
actually tasty we used county beef Spare ribs for the meat, talk near fall apart in your mouth. that was the only change awesome
05/07/2018
Very good recipe. I did use sliced stir fry beef and frozen broccoli just for convenience. Would make again.
04/05/2016
Turned out nifty. Every bit others did, I added 1\iv teaspoon of red pepper flakes, used 1/4 brownish sugar and used 1/4 soya sauce and i/4 oyster sauce. I likewise just put the broccoli directly in the boring cooker approx in last 30mins of cooking
01/10/2018
This was a hitting for the whole family! I don't like steamed broccoli, and so I went alee and roasted information technology like my family likes information technology only other than that, no changes made. Highly recommend it
11/11/2015
Family loved this. I followed the suggestion of some other reviewer and added some crushed cherry pepper flakes. Next, I am going to try this with chicken broth and chicken instead of the beefiness.
03/15/2016
I did something I've never washed and I added my instant rice to the crock pot to cook with the meat. I just added extra water. Worked not bad! I used instant brownish rice. I used stew meat too. We liked this, it was really easy with my short cuts......The second time I made the mistake of using long grain dark-brown rice and I had to add together a lot of h2o and keep information technology on high for iii hours to get the rice cooked. Once cooked, I turned information technology down to low and stirred in thawed broccoli.
08/21/2015
I fabricated this as is. It was ok at best. It had an amazing smokey odour, though-- my daughter and I were very excited to try information technology. Being Asian, I prefer my Asian-inspired foods to taste atleast a little bit familiar. My daughter said it tasted like teriyaki beef jerky, and she was spot on. I gave it 3 stars because my daughter at least ate it.
02/26/2018
I will definitely be making this dish again. My family enjoyed it and they are really picky eaters.
03/xiv/2016
And so easy and delicious, I'll teach my 13-yr-quondam how to brand this! A wee fleck salty, may endeavour low-sodium soy sauce adjacent fourth dimension. Also idea some green onions added to it and peanuts sprinkled on top might be skilful!
09/17/2017
I made it for dinner last evening. Didn't take a large enough piece of meat, so I took communication of other reviewers & added onions, light-green peppers & more garlic, oh & a little more brown carbohydrate after tasting sauce. I volition play with the sauce a wee chip more next time I prepare it, could be improved for our taste. Served over rice with Asian Slaw. Cheers for the post!
08/16/2015
Followed the exact recipe except for the rice (I used white). Cooked on high for 4 hours and the meat was very tender! I will brand this once again. There was barely whatsoever prep and it was so goooood!!
07/15/2020
First-class!! I used beef broth instead of h2o and boullion but otherwise followed the recipe exactly.
10/04/2021
well i must say ours turned out fantastic! I ended upward making a few changes 1. used Goya powdered bullion Beefiness! 1 parcel. ii. used low sodium soy sauce ane/2 cup 3, frozen broccoli florettes put them in after 2 hours 4. used 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 table spoons of flour to make information technology thicker But in order to brand it thicker i had to pull the broth and do broth on stove its faster for thickening It came out perfect very nice sense of taste non salty! Hubby is going to love information technology Thanks again!!!
05/nineteen/2021
Love this recipe! Piece of cake and taste like a restaurant made information technology. Mom and Dad idea it was take out!
11/04/2020
This was so delish. Definitely don't put the veggies in at the beginning, like i did :( I used frozen trio peppers and frozen broccoli and they basically desentigted
12/12/2020
We really enjoyed it, and the meat melted in your oral fissure. Information technology tasted amend than going to a restaurant. I used low sodium soy sauce, I used angus sirloin beef, and I added the broccoli into the crockpot about xxx-40minutes earlier it would exist gear up instead of steaming it. It came out perfectly.
03/12/2018
I panicked a picayune when I opened the slow cooker because it didn't look similar enough to feed 3 people; however, later on calculation the broccoli, it was plenty. The family loved this...delicious!
01/13/2020
I actually wanted to love this but it but turned out like a roast. The meat became shredded when yous stirred information technology and I had to add some extra seasonings because it was kind of bland. The family unit liked it ok, no one complained. I do know that Chinese food is about quick and hot cooking so slow and low is probably non the best fashion to fix.
04/10/2016
I used a bigger beefiness roast and added more soy sauce 1 cup. Information technology was great tasting and very like shooting fish in a barrel to brand.
10/13/2017
My family and I liked this recipe. I added onions to it and used fresh broccoli. Will make again.
02/21/2018
I used a piece if London Broil, it is what I had, I over cooked slightly but followed the recipe and it was delicious! I will make again.
01/04/2017
It was delicious equally-is! Next time I arrive I plan to add some ginger for more than of a zing. Otherwise it was not bad.
11/10/2016
I followed the directions, simply my meat was then over cooked that it totally barbarous autonomously. It reminded me of broccoli with beef gravy. And I thought the flavor a tad bland. Probably won't get in once more.
09/11/2018
Delicious and like shooting fish in a barrel to make! Yummy!
08/24/2018
Fifty-fifty with low sodium soy sauce, it is somewhat salty. Also, my beef "shredded" and didn't plow stay in the "planks" I'd cut it in to. Tastes okay.
07/31/2018
This came out tasting very adept, Followed the recipe except I used a chuck roast and 2 packages of microwaveable broccoli florets. Easier and less costly.
09/11/2017
Very tart. Way too much soy sauce. Definitely missing something. I won't make once more:
08/06/2018
Didn't make any changes and information technology was delicious!! Didn't find information technology salty like others had mentioned just did use low sodium soy sauce. Will exist keeping this one!
09/thirty/2019
Needed ginger
eleven/15/2018
Add some ginger paste...and is neat using gluten complimentary soy sauce...
08/27/2015
Sauce was really on point, very good, but Make Sure you reduce the Soy sauce to but a few splashes! I will be making this again on the stove top with chicken
01/03/2015
Loved it and so did the whole family unit. I have tried many beef & broccoli recipes, and I have to say that is this is our favorite
09/23/2018
So easy to make and very tasty. My family just loved it. I volition definitely be making it again.
12/02/2015
